Post-workout recovery is crucial.
Professional athletes know that victory isn’t just about the field, but also about the speed of recovery. After strenuous training, the body releases metabolic byproducts like lactic acid and protein residues that cause pain and stiffness.

Benefits of a soft texture for the athlete:

Some may think that an athlete only needs deep tissue massage, but lymphatic drainage massage offers benefits that vigorous massage cannot provide:

  • Rapid lactic acid removal: The movement of lymphatic fluids helps cleanse muscles of chemical waste products generated by physical exertion.
  • Reduced inflammation from microscopic tears: It helps reduce microscopic swelling within muscles, thus minimizing the rest time required between exercises.
  • Improved range of motion: When swelling around joints and tendons decreases, the athlete’s flexibility improves and their risk of injury is reduced.

When should an athlete have the session?

It is preferable to have a lymphatic drainage session within 24 hours after major competitions or high-intensity training to ensure the body is “cleansed” and to avoid injuries resulting from accumulated stress.
