A very important and frequently asked question: I often find clients contacting me and asking about the number of sessions. When I answer them with the number, they say, “How come the doctor told me I only need three or four sessions?” Honestly, I don’t understand how.

For reservations and communication

Firstly, the number of lymphatic drainage massage sessions needed after cosmetic surgery varies depending on the type of procedure, the number of areas treated, the amount of accumulated fluid, and the body’s recovery rate. All these factors determine the number of sessions required for the body to fully recover and see the results of the surgery.

– On average: Most patients need between 8 and 15 sessions to fully recover, rehabilitate their lymph nodes to function normally again, and achieve excellent body contouring results and show the full effect of the surgery.

When does the first session begin?

This is usually done 48 to 72 hours after the procedure, which is optimal for drainage before fluids solidify.

However, in other cases (such as a tummy tuck), the doctor may prefer to wait 3 to 7 days, and in some cases up to 10 days, to allow for internal and external wound healing and to ensure that the wound or sutures do not reopen during massage and that the results are satisfactory.
